WEEK 10

In Week 10, our group created an interactive short story using Twine, tentatively titled "The Hunger Crisis in the UK." The story begins with the premise that one day you wake up feeling extremely hungry, but there's no food left at home. You then face three choices: 1. Stay in bed and continue sleeping. 2. Visit a friend’s house to get some food. 3. Go out to the supermarket to buy food. If you choose option 1, the story ends in a "bad ending," where the protagonist starves to death. However, choosing options 2 or 3 allows the story to continue. We also added some interesting plot twists to the choices, such as having your food delivery stolen or experiencing food poisoning after eating near-expired items.

It was my first time participating in the creation of such a mini-game, and it felt amazing. It gave me a basic understanding of the transition process between options. Brainstorming ideas together while designing the game was particularly fun. This was also the final class of Semester 1. During the workshops, I learned many practical skills and gained a deeper understanding of digital media. The website updates have also come to a temporary pause. See you next time!
